Hadas Hassid

Hadas Hassid's alterative media works are directly descended from the process-oriented conceptualists of the 1960s. They too walk a thin line between sculpture, painting, and drawing. Her experimentally produced objects unveil the method of their manufacture, as in Life Span of a Green Marker (2008) where a horizontal line sinuously traces the length of a support until the ink runs dry, delineating its own production in one calculated gesture. Text on Hassid from the Herzliya Museum reads, "The accumulative surface remains almost indifferent, so that gesture annuls itself and is presented as an empty cliché of ornamentation."
