Gil Shachar |
|
Working out of Germany, contemporary sculptor Gil Shachar moulds uncomfortably realistic objects from epoxy, wax and resin, often augmented with found materials. Though he creates discrete objects, these are often installed to imply that webs of meaning exist between his sculptures, drawing the negative space of the gallery into his narrative. Haptics is a leitmotif: hands run through his collections, often disconnected from the figures to which they belong, lending a universality to the frozen actions they perform.
