Eran Shakine

Eran Shakine's delicacy of line and painterly compositions have earned widespread respect--first for his pastoral desert scenes of goats, highly reminiscent of the aesthetic of the cave-paintings of Lascaux, and later for his portraits. Now creating images of close friends and family with a lyricism that brings to mind the unparalleled linework of Egon Schiele, Shakine's paintings embody a sense of timelessness yet also a threatened reality, crumbling slightly at its edges.  Recent works include sculptural installations.
